Terms & Conditions
Please read these terms carefully before using our services. By booking an installation with Surchan Kitchen, you agree to be bound by the terms set out below.
1. Kitchens & Materials Supplied by the Client
Where you supply your own kitchen units, worktops or materials, we are not responsible for manufacturing defects, missing parts, or delays caused by third-party suppliers. We will inspect delivered goods and notify you promptly of any issues found.
2. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from our services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
3. Photography for Portfolio Use
We may take photographs of completed installations for use in our portfolio, website or marketing materials. If you would prefer your project not to be used in this way, please let us know in writing before work begins.
4. Snagging & Aftercare
Following completion, you will have an opportunity to review the finished installation. Any snagging items identified within a reasonable period will be addressed promptly at no additional cost, provided they relate to our workmanship.
5. Warranty on Workmanship
We provide a warranty on our installation workmanship for a period specified in your quotation. This warranty covers fitting-related issues and does not extend to manufacturer defects in units, appliances or materials, which remain covered by the manufacturer's own warranty.
6. Insurance
Surchan Kitchen holds public liability insurance covering our work. Details of our current insurance policy are available on request prior to the start of your project.
7. Damage to Property
We take reasonable care to protect your property throughout the installation, including covering flooring and adjoining areas. Any accidental damage caused by our team will be reported to you and rectified at our cost.
8. Removal & Disposal of Old Kitchens
Where included in your quotation, we remove and responsibly dispose of your existing kitchen units, worktops and associated waste in accordance with UK waste disposal regulations.
9. Health & Safety
We follow all relevant health and safety guidelines during installation. For the safety of all parties, we ask that children and pets are kept away from the work area, particularly during removal, wiring and heavy lifting stages.
10. Gas & Electrical Work
All gas work is carried out exclusively by Gas Safe registered engineers, and all electrical work complies with current UK wiring regulations. Certificates for notifiable work will be provided upon completion where applicable.
11. Timescales & Delays
Estimated timescales are provided in good faith based on the agreed scope of work. Delays caused by third-party trades, supplier delivery, structural issues discovered on site, or changes requested by the client may extend the completion date.
12. Introduction
These Terms & Conditions govern the provision of kitchen installation services by Surchan Kitchen. By requesting a quote, booking a survey, or accepting a quotation, you agree to be bound by these terms in full.
13. Client Responsibilities
You are responsible for ensuring the room is cleared of personal items prior to the start date, unless clearance has been agreed as part of our service. You should also inform us of any known issues with the property, such as damp, asbestos or structural concerns.
14. Access to Property
You agree to provide our team with reasonable access to the property, including parking where possible, running water and electricity, for the duration of the installation. Delays caused by restricted access may affect the completion timeline.
15. Cancellation by Surchan Kitchen
We reserve the right to postpone or reschedule an installation in circumstances beyond our reasonable control, such as illness, extreme weather or supplier delays. We will notify you as soon as possible and agree a revised date.
16. Cancellation by the Client
You may cancel your booking by providing written notice. Cancellations made less than 7 days before the scheduled start date may be subject to a cancellation charge to cover materials ordered and time reserved.
17. Deposits & Payment Terms
An initial deposit is required to secure your installation date, with further payment stages linked to project milestones as set out in your written quotation. Final payment is due upon satisfactory completion of the work.
18. Changes to Scope of Work
If you request additional work not included in the original quotation, a revised price will be agreed in writing before that work begins. We will never carry out chargeable additional work without your prior written or verbal agreement.
19. Quotations & Pricing
All quotations are provided in writing following the home survey and are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated. Prices are fixed based on the scope of work agreed at the time of quotation and do not change unless the scope of work changes.
20. Free Home Survey
Before providing a fixed-price quote, we carry out a free, no-obligation home survey. This allows us to assess access, measurements and any factors that may affect the installation. The survey does not constitute a binding contract.
21. Scope of Services
We provide kitchen installation services including, but not limited to, removal of existing kitchens, cabinet fitting, plumbing, electrical work, tiling, worktop coordination, appliance installation and final finishing. The exact scope for your project will be confirmed in your written quotation.
